Contentment

Interesting considering the ladies’ Bible study that I’m participating in is reading The Practice of Godliness by Jerry Bridges and one of the chapters for tomorrow night’s discussion is the chapter on contentment. Learning to be patient as we look toward our first home ownership. Contentment also plays a role as we start looking at houses and realize that there are going to be things we don’t like about the house we end up getting. There is no perfect house, just as there is no perfect mate, perfect job or perfect church. A reminder that this life is temporary and we aren’t to build our dream life or home on this earth for it will all pass away. Being content with where we are and not always striving for something more is key to living this life with genuine joy.
